MoDOT holds second public meeting to discuss maintenance on I-44 bridges TODAY

ST. LOUIS - Residents along Interstate 44 in the city of St. Louis and St. Louis County may want to attend the second of two public meetings to discuss maintenance on 32 bridges along the corridor TODAY.

TODAY'S meeting is in the city of St. Louis, October 17, from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Missouri Foundation for Health, 4254 Vista Avenue, St. Louis MO 63110. The same information will be shared as was presented at a previous meeting in St. Louis County Tuesday.

The Missouri Department of Transportation is holding the open house-style public meeting TODAY to gather concerns about and discuss plans to maintain, replace or rehabilitate more than 30 bridges on or over Interstate 44 between Nebraska Avenue in the City of St. Louis and Fox Creek, west of Six Flags, in St. Louis County. The work is expected to start in 2026.

During the meetings, MoDOT engineers will share information on the bridges and will gather concerns about those bridges for consideration in design plans.

There will be no formal presentation. Participants may attend either meeting at any time between 4 p.m. and 6 p.m.

For those who are unable to attend the meeting in person, the information shared during the meeting as well as a survey form will be available at Interstate 44 Bridge Maintenance in St. Louis and St. Louis City | Missouri Department of Transportation (modot.org). People are welcome to view the information and provide comments about the roadway until Friday, November 1.

This meeting will allow the public to share their thoughts and concerns about the corridor and provide comments, either directly to the engineers or through the survey, on those concerns.
