Thanks to Rosen-Backed Law, Nevada Seniors Can Now Sign Up for Plan to Make it Easier to Pay for Prescription Drug Costs

Senator Rosen Helped Pass Legislation To Cap Seniors' Out-Of-Pocket Prescription Drug Costs And Allow Them To Pay In Monthly Installments

LAS VEGAS, NV - Starting today, thanks to legislation that U.S. Senator Jacky Rosen (D-NV) helped pass, Nevada seniors can sign up for a Medicare plan to make it easier for them to pay for prescription drugs in monthly installments, beginning in January. The Rosen-backed Inflation Reduction Act will cap Medicare Part D beneficiaries' total out-of-pocket costs for prescription drugs at no more than $2,000 a year, and it will allow them to opt-in to the new Medicare Prescription Payment Plan to spread out any out-of-pocket costs over several months. Senator Rosen has been leading the fight to lower prescription drug costs. Last month, she joined her colleagues in filing an amicus brief supporting the federal law they helped pass to give Medicare the power to negotiate for lower prescription drug prices. Earlier this year, Senator Rosen introduced bipartisan legislation to lower out-of-pocket prescription drug costs for seniors. Thanks to the Inflation Reduction Act, Senator Rosen helped lower prescription drug costs for seniors, lower health care premiums, and cap the insulin costs for those on Medicare Part D at $35/month per prescription.
