Interstate 380 is Open in Monroe County

08/09/2024

Interstate 380 is open in Monroe County.

The highway had been closed earlier today between Exit 3 (PA 940) and Exit 8 (PA 423, PA 611 to PA 423) due to downed utility lines. The highway is now open.

PennDOT is closely monitoring roadways and the impacts of flooding due to heavy rains with the arrival of Tropical Storm Debby to the region.

During this weather event motorists should watch for downed trees and utility lines, ponding on roadways and flooding in poor drainage areas while traveling.

PennDOT also cautions motorists to never drive through flooded roadways, as it takes just two feet of rushing water to carry away most vehicles. Anyone who drives around barriers intended to close a road can face increased penalties if emergency responders are called to rescue motorists who disregard traffic control signs.

Motorists can check conditions on major roadways by visiting www.511PA.com. 511PA, which is free and available 24 hours a day, provides traffic delay warnings, weather forecasts, traffic speed information and access to more than 1,000 traffic cameras.
