THE CITY OF CHARLESTON IS HOSTING HURRICANE PREPAREDNESS WEEK TO INFORM AND PREPARE RESIDENTS

TheCity of Charleston is committed to ensuring the safety and preparedness of its residents for the upcoming 2024 hurricane season. To achieve this, the city is launching Hurricane Preparedness Week from July 15 to July 19. This week-long initiative will feature a variety of informative content including social media posts, a city newsletter, and educational videos, all aimed at providing residents with the best practices for hurricane preparedness.

In partnership with local emergency management teams, Charleston Fire Department,and our local chief meteorologists Rob Fowler from Channel 2, Dave Williams from Channel 4, and Bill Walsh from Channel 5, the city will deliver daily content packed with essential information to help you and your family stay safe.

Mayor William Cogswell emphasizes the importance of this initiative, stating, "Part of living in Charleston is understanding hurricanes and the risks they pose to our community. We want to make sure every resident feels equipped and informed to handle any potential storms.
