Dear UC Community,
A national search for our next Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs and Provost is underway. We are currently in the process of interviewing search firms, and I have appointed Interim Provost Kristi Nelson, PhD, to chair the search committee. Dr. Nelson previously served as our university's provost from 2017 through 2021, following a distinguished 36-year career as a faculty member and university administrator. I'm confident that Dr. Nelson will do a tremendous job leading the search for our next chief academic officer.
The following members of the UC community will serve as members of the search committee, in accordance with University Rule 3361:10-6-02. I am grateful to each for agreeing to serve and dedicating their time to this critically important search:
In terms of a timeline, we expect to conduct multiple rounds of interviews beginning early in 2025. The university community will have an opportunity to meet finalists when those have been identified later in Spring semester. Our goal is to have our next academic leader in place by June 1.
Warm regards,
Neville G. Pinto
President
