Anota Akofu, MD, Joins West Georgia Center for Diabetes and Endocrinology

Endocrinology, diabetes and metabolism specialist Anota Akofu, MD, has joined the patient care team at West Georgia Center for Diabetes and Endocrinology in Carrollton and the medical staff of Tanner Health.

Dr. Akofu is board-certified in endocrinology, diabetes and metabolism by the American Board of Internal Medicine. She earned her medical degree from the University of Benin Medical School in Benin City, Nigeria. She completed a residency in internal medicine at Southern Illinois University in Springfield, Illinois. Dr. Akofu also completed a fellowship in endocrinology, diabetes and metabolism at the University of Missouri in Columbia, Missouri.

At West Georgia Center for Diabetes and Endocrinology, a Tanner Medical Group practice, Dr. Akofu joins the patient care team of Michael Vavik, MD, and LaToya Bexley, DNP, ANP-BC, to help patients manage chronic diseases and live long, healthy lives.
