Congresswoman Sylvia Garcia Statement on DOJ Lawsuit Filed Against Southwest Key

HOUSTON - Today, Congresswoman Sylvia R. Garcia (D-TX-29) issued the following statement regarding the lawsuit filed by the Department of Justice against Southwest Key Programs Inc.:

"The reported sexual abuse and harassment of unaccompanied minors in the care of Southwest Key is utterly appalling. Southwest Key is entrusted to care for these children during one of the most turbulent times in their young lives. The federal government must do everything to hold those responsible for these vile acts. We must protect these innocent children from such abhorrent actions and confront this profound moral failure with the urgency it demands."
