BERC Awards Eco-Friendly Businesses in Sacramento

On Sept. 26, 2024, Business Environmental Resource Center (BERC), a division of the Sacramento County Office of Economic Development presented the 18th Annual Sustainable Business Awards in partnership with the Sacramento Municipal Utility District (SMUD). Eight businesses were recognized as part of the Sacramento County Sustainable Business Program.

The ceremony recognized the top contenders in eight unique categories whose work practices demonstrate an outstanding commitment to enhancing sustainability in Sacramento County.

Throughout the year, BERC conducts community outreach to seek business participation in the Sustainable Business Program. This no-cost membership platform provides the business community with marketing toolkits, educational opportunities, community engagement events and connections to grant or incentive opportunities in the space of environmental sustainability. BERC's Sustainable Business Program is the region's benchmark for businesses considering or already engaged in eco-friendly practices Since the Program's inception, BERC has issued more than 800 certifications and has awarded more than 200 unique businesses.​
