Lakeway City Council called an election for a Parks Bond early in February 2024 that was held on May 4, 2024. Lakeway City Council accepted final results of the election on Wednesday, May 15, 2024, which showed Lakeway voters approving the bond by about 68%.
The process for creating this bond package took several years of planning, along with in-person and virtual town halls that took place December 2023. The list of proposed projects started with eight locations, and ended with the five projects below. We welcome your feedback at any time as we move forward with completing these projects. We are also seeking IMMEDIATE feedback regarding the development of Butler/ Rough Hollow Park. The Lakeway Parks & Recreation Department held an in-person meeting regarding the latest design concepts for the park at the Highland Village Pavilion in Rough Hollow on Monday, Oct. 28, 2024. Immediately below are TWO concepts discussed at the meeting. We welcome your thoughts through our feedback portal on whether you prefer Option 1 or Option 2. The City of Lakeway is exploring whether or not restricting partial park access to allow the school district to utilize certain spaces throughout the school day is a good idea or not. In the FEEDBACK portal, please select the "Butler/Rough Hollow Park" button and then indicate your preference in the feedback comments section. If you'd like to review the other park concepts and also provide feedback on those, please continue to scroll down. Thank you for your valuable input!
