The New Orleans Recreation Development (NORD) Commission is thrilled to announce the return of its annual Holiday in the Park celebration at Joe W. Brown Memorial Park in New Orleans East, 5601 Read Boulevard. From December 2 through January 2, 2025, visitors of all ages are invited to experience this magical celebration of lights, music, and community. The event offers both a drive-through and walk-through experience, opening nightly at dusk and running until 9:30 p.m.

Now in its 5th year, Holiday in the Park transforms Joe W. Brown Park into a winter wonderland featuring dazzling lights, joyful music, delicious food, and an inviting community atmosphere. Visitors can stroll through the park to enjoy festive decorations and drop off letters to Santa at the Joe W. Brown Gym.

Driven by dedicated community volunteers, partners, and sponsors, Holiday in the Park at Joe W. Brown Memorial Park continues to foster a spirit of unity and joy, creating treasured memories for families and friends across New Orleans.

This year, the festivities expand with special lighting events at two additional locations:

  • NORD Administration Building on the Milne Recreation Campus (5420 Franklin Avenue) on Saturday, December 7, at dusk.

"NORD is proud to bring the magic of the holiday season to communities across New Orleans through our annual Holiday in the Park celebration and expanded lighting events this year," said Larry Barabino, Jr., CEO of the NORD Commission.
