KAT Reimagined Bus Network Preview Now Available in Transit App
Knoxville Area Transit (KAT) is preparing for the launch of the new KAT Reimagined bus network that starts on Aug. 26, 2024 by partnering with Transit to provide a preview within the app.
Passengers can now preview the new routes in the Transit app, and plan their future trips. It is free to download - just search 'Transit' in the App Store or Google Play. Click here for a bus network preview guide.
To help passengers understand the upcoming changes, KAT will be hosting outreach events at various apartment complexes, community centers, social service organizations, and at Knoxville Station throughout July and August.
These events are an excellent opportunity for community members to learn more about the new bus routes and schedules and find out how it will affect them.
Details of the public outreach events will be listed on the Events Calendar on KATBus.com.
"By providing a preview of the new routes in the Transit app, we aim to make the transition to the KAT Reimagined network as smooth as possible for our passengers," said Isaac Thorne, Director of Transit. "We encourage everyone to take advantage of the app to familiarize themselves with the changes and attend our outreach events to get any questions answered."
In addition, Knoxville Area Transit will be providing free rides for the first two weeks after KAT Reimagined launches. KAT will be fare free from Aug. 26, 2024 - Sept. 8, 2024 while passengers are acclimating to the new routes.
