Assault – Arrest: C24-203542

On October 18, 2024, a 42-year-old male of Winnipeg was arrested and is facing the charge of Assault Cause Bodily Harm in regards to an assault at an establishment in the 400 block of Main Street.

On August 30, 2024, at approximately 11:30 p.m. a female patron was smoking on the patio of the establishment when she was confronted by security staff who advised that it was prohibited. They became engaged in a verbal argument which escalated to a physical altercation and the female fell to the ground. While on the ground she was assaulted by the security member which rendered her unconscious.

The 18-year-old victim subsequently required medical treatment for her injuries.

The Major Crimes Unit took over the investigation and video surveillance was obtained.

The male was was released on an Undertaking per the Criminal Code.
