Town's bond rating upgraded with school bond sale

The Town of Bar Harbor is pleased to announce the successful sale of the tax-exempt General Obligation Bond for the construction of Conners Emerson Elementary School.

In preparation for the bond sale, Standard & Poor's affirmed the Town's AAA rating and Moody's upgraded the Town's rating to Aa1 for the first time.

These excellent ratings attracted significant investor interest as the Town received 119 bids for the negotiated sale. This demand allowed the Town achieve a very favorable true interest cost of just 4.06% for the 30-year bond.
