Equitable Solar Workforce Development Community Convening Webinar

The Midwest Renewable Energy Association (MREA) has been selected by the U.S. Department of Energy as a lead organization to support equitable workforce development practices within the solar industry. The MREA workforce effort is part of the national Equitable Solar Communities of Practice working to increase the benefits of solar development.

As lead organization, the MREA has assembled a core team of national solar workforce leaders that will play a key role in informing and completing project tasks. The core team is made up of Renewables Forward, GRID Alternatives, Solar Energy International (SEI), the City of Minneapolis Green Careers Program, the American Federation of Government Employees (AFGE), and the Interstate Renewable Energy Council (IREC).

To advance the objectives of the national Equitable Solar Workforce Communities of Practice, the MREA and the Interstate Renewable Energy Council's (IREC) National Clean Energy Workforce Alliance are hosting a virtual community-wide convening. This event aims to engage stakeholders in a brief review of a draft solar workforce landscape review and gap analysis and showcase real-life examples of workforce development programs.

The convening features a series of short presentations showcasing real-life examples of solar workforce development programs.
