The Delaware Department of Health and Social Services (DHSS), Division of Social Services (DSS), and State Office of Volunteerism (SOV) are accepting nominations for the 2025 Governor's Volunteer Service Awards.
These awards honor the outstanding contributions of youth, adult, and corporate volunteers throughout Delaware.
New for 2025, the Governor's Youth Volunteer Service Awards will feature a Young Environmentalist Stewardship category, recognizing one youth honoree who has demonstrated exceptional dedication to environmental awareness, education, and conservation through impactful volunteer projects. This category celebrates young Delawareans who have shown initiative and leadership in environmental protection and stewardship, reflecting Delaware's commitment to a sustainable future.
The Governor's Outstanding Volunteer Service Awards will also honor one corporation whose volunteer efforts have significantly contributed to community betterment. This corporate honoree will be celebrated for exemplifying leadership in civic engagement and community support.
Nominations for all categories are open until Friday, January 17, 2025. Nomination forms and detailed award criteria are available on the Volunteer Delaware website. Eligible nominees should have made a meaningful impact on their community or the state through volunteer efforts in 2024.
The award recipients will be celebrated at a distinguished ceremony on May 1, 2025, at Bally's Dover Hotel & Casino, honoring individuals, groups, and the corporate honoree for their dedication to the well-being and growth of Delaware communities.
