Laos Introduces a Visa-free Policy for Chinese Visitors

On June 26 (GMT+7), the Minister of Information, Culture and Tourism of Laos signed Document No. 29. The implementation details on the visa policy for specific tourists is part of Lao effort to boost tourism for Visit Laos Year 2024.

According to the document, ordinary passport holders from the Chinese mainland, Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan will each be granted a visa-free entry for a stay period of no more than 15 days, provided that they will travel to Laos under the arrangements of travel agencies. Their trips must be organized by travel agencies of Laos and approved by the Ministry of Information, Culture and Tourism of Laos. The policy will be in effect from July 1 to December 31, 2024.
