AIA Praises Treasury’s Adoption of Section 45X Recommendations

Arlington, Va. - Aerospace Industries Association (AIA) Vice President of International Affairs Dak Hardwick today commended the U.S. Treasury Department for including AIA recommendations into the implementation guidance for Section 45X of the Inflation Reduction Act.

"AIA is pleased to see the Department of Treasury release implementation guidance for Section 45X of the InflationReduction Act. The guidance includes the costs of direct and indirect materials, extraction production, and acquisition of raw materials as eligible for the tax credit, a direct ask of AIA and our members," Hardwick said. "AIA has been a leading advocate on this issue, and we are grateful to the U.S. government for their commitment to secure our aerospace and defense supply chain and enhance our national security."

AIA has routinely advocated for clarification of Section 45X of the Inflation Reduction Act. In August of 2023, AIA released a document outlining key steps to securing the defense critical minerals supply chain.
