Police seek public's assistance locating driver and vehicle involved in hit and run

The Edmonton Police Service (EPS) is seeking the public's assistance locating the driver and vehicle involved in a hit-and-run collision that occurred yesterday evening in downtown Edmonton.

On Tuesday, August 13, 2024 at approximately 10:30 p.m., Downtown Branch members were in the area of 106a Avenue and 96 Street when they witnessed a gold truck travelling at a high rate of speed. Officers heard a loud noise and subsequently located a severely injured pedestrian in a laneway along with a broken fence - both appearing to have been struck.

Police performed life-saving measures on the 45-year-old male pedestrian until EMS arrived and transported him to hospital with serious life-threatening injuries.

The vehicle involved in this incident is described as an older gold pick-up truck with a headache rack and is expected to have front-end damage.
