Brief Description of Proposed Project:
This project includes the construction of 2,500 ft.-2,900 ft. of new non-motorized earth and gravel trail from the existing Jim Lake parking area, or the Rippy Trail parking area if the preferred Jim Lake parking area route is infeasible, to the Jim Lake Overlook. The project will also include the reinforcement and repair of the existing 300 ft. path that provides direct access from the Maud Road Extension to the Jim Lake Overlook. This path has been worn down and now enables illegal access by motorized traffic. Repairs will include re-establishment of the original trail and placement of barriers to prohibit motorized uses. The overlook will be slightly graded if needed and a small picnic area created.
