Resurfacing Project Continues on Route 87 in Fairfield Township, Lycoming County

Montoursville, PA - Motorists are advised a resurfacing project continues on Route 87 in Montoursville Borough, Fairfield Township, Upper Fairfield Township, and Plunketts Creek Township, Lycoming County.

Starting on July 17, 2024, the contractor, Glenn O. Hawbaker will be milling and paving on Route 87 between the Interstate 180 overpass in Montoursville Borough and Snyder's Country Pet Food. Milling will be performed between the hours of 6:00 AM and 6:00 PM and paving will be performed between the hours of 9:00 PM and 6:00 AM. Motorists can expect single lane conditions with flagging where work is being performed.

Motorists should be alert, slow down, expect delays in travel, and drive with caution through the work zone.

Glenn O. Hawbaker, Inc., is the prime contractor for this $2.6 million resurfacing project. Work includes milling and resurfacing of the roadway, base repairs, drainage work, guide rail and sign upgrades. The project is anticipated to be completed in the fall of 2024, weather permitting.
