TRAFFIC ALERT: I 49 Ramps CLOSED in Barton & Vernon Counties for Resurfacing Project Sept. 18 21

Where: These ramps will be CLOSED along I-49 in Barton and Vernon counties

  • Barton County Route V/C (Exit 83) approximately 5.5 miles north of Lamar
  • Barton County Route DD/EE (Exit 80) approximately 2.5 miles north of Lamar
  • S. Route 160 (Exit 77) in Lamar
  • Vernon County Route N/B (Exit 88) east of Sheldon

When: 4 a.m.-10 p.m., Wednesday-Saturday, September 18-21

What: This work is part of a resurfacing project on I-49 between Missouri Route 54 in Nevada and U.S. Route 160 in Lamar.

Traffic Impacts:

  • On- and off ramps CLOSED where crews are working
  • No two consecutive interchanges closed at the same time allowing drivers to exit at the next interchange and turn around if necessary
  • No signed detour
  • Signs and message boards will alert drivers approaching closure
  • Drivers urged to find alternate routes
  • Check MoDOT's Traveler Information Map for road closings/traffic impacts

Weather and/or construction delays will alter the work schedule.
