Amata’s Statement of Remembrance on September 11th

Washington, D.C. -Congresswoman Uifa'atali Amata released the following statement remembering September 11, 2001:

"Our nation will always remember September 11th, a day that changed our country and revealed heroes. September 11th causes us to think of those who lost lives, their families, and the bravery of those responding. History and our national museums have preserved forever the courage of the firefighters, police, first responders and the passengers on Flight 93.

"I was in Washington, D.C., that day and I will always remember seeing from nearby the dark smoke rising against the sky from the Pentagon. Today, a heartfelt thank you to all our law enforcement, firefighters and first responders everywhere. We rely on you in a time of crisis, which is why we support your need year-round for proper equipment and training. We are so grateful to all our Veterans and our Service Members. May God bless American Samoa, and be with the United States, guiding us in peace and freedom."
