The first award of $400,000 has been granted to Carter's Compassionate Transitional & Supportive Housing in Jackson, Mississippi. This funding will support the OVW Fiscal Year 2024 Grants to Enhance Culturally Specific Services for Victims of Domestic Violence, Dating Violence, Sexual Assault, and Stalking Program. Carter's Compassionate Transitional & Supportive Housing will provide culturally specific services, addressing the needs of Black/African American victims in the Jackson metropolitan area. Key services include trauma-informed care, life skills classes, financial counseling, holistic healing activities, and more, to ensure safety, economic stability, and healing for survivors.

The second award of $250,000 has been granted to the Mississippi Coalition Against Sexual Assault, Inc. (MSCASA).
