On 26 September 2024 Her Excellency Ms. Batmunkh Battsetseg, Minister for Foreign Affairs, held a meeting with His Excellency Mr. Roberto Álvarez, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Dominican Republic, on the sidelines of the 79th Session of the United Nations General Assembly.

During the meeting, the two sides exchanged views on the further development of bilateral relations and cooperation between the two countries. They also signed the "Agreement between Mongolia and the Dominican Republic on the Exemption of Visa Requirements for Diplomatic, Official, and Regular Passport Holders" and the "Memorandum of Understanding on Political Consultation between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Mongolia and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Dominican Republic."

The newly signed documents will foster further development of bilateral relations between the two countries. By establishing a political consultative mechanism between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs, they will enable the implementation of mutually beneficial cooperation in areas such as politics, trade, the economy, tourism, education, and culture. More importantly, the agreements will allow citizens of both countries to travel freely.
