In preparation for EAA AirVenture Oshkosh fly-in convention in Oshkosh, Wisc., NATCA members helped put on the EAA SimVenture program, held from July 11-14. This online simulation event featured live pilots and air traffic controllers working together to virtually replicate the annual fly-in at Oshkosh, providing a vital training tool for pilots and controllers alike.

"EAA SimVenture is an excellent training tool and helps prepare pilots for the actual event," Oshkosh FacRep Nick Luce said. "The collaboration between pilots and air traffic controllers over the web was seamless, mirroring real-world scenarios."

NATCA members annually put on their renowned pink shirts reflecting their role at Oshkosh, and are known for their expertise and calm, encouraging communication, helping pilots navigate safely through the intense air traffic.

"I watched the livestream of the operation, and it was a testament to the dedication and professionalism of our NATCA members," Luce said. "This event highlighted the safety and preparedness we strive for, ultimately benefiting pilot expectations and performance."

The EAA SimVenture program reinforced the importance of preparation and coordination, showcasing the dedication of NATCA members and their critical role in ensuring the safety and success of aviation events.
