Detectives are investigating a fatal collision Wednesday night in a West Seattle neighborhood.
Shortly before 10:00 p.m., officers responded to reports of a collision involving a car that crashed into a parked vehicle in the 6300 block of 48th Avenue Southwest.
Police, along with Seattle Fire Department medics, arrived and located a 31-year-old man unresponsive in his vehicle. The male was extracted from the car and medics provided aid. Despite lifesaving efforts, the male was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Patrol officers cordoned off the area, and detectives with the Traffic Collision Investigation Squad responded to the scene.
The male was driving a Volvo when he collided with a parked Ford SUV. This is an open and ongoing investigation and detectives will be working to determine what led up to the collision.
