Caltrans To Begin Pavement Rehabilitation Project On State Route 132, Interstate 205 And I-580 In San Joaquin County

San Joaquin County - Caltrans is preparing to begin a pavement rehabilitation project to repair the roadway surface and improve motorist safety at several on and off-ramp locations on State Route 132 (SR-132) and Interstates 205 and I-580 in San Joaquin County.

The project will make various pavement improvements at nine on/off-ramp locations using Hot Mix Asphalt, Cold Plane Asphalt Concrete and application of polymer modified asphalt binder (chip seal) to extend service life, reduce maintenance expenses, and improve reliability and safety for motorists. Work will occur at the following locations:

The project is set to begin September 3, 2024, and is scheduled for 70 working days with completion expected by December 2024.

Work will occur Sunday nights through Thursday nights and motorists should expect overnight on/off-ramp ramp closures on SR-132 and I-205 and connector ramp closures at eastbound I-580 to SR-132. Caltrans will have overhead and roadside signage alerting motorists of the closures.

This $1.95 million maintenance project will be performed by O.C. Jones & Sons, Inc. (Berkeley, CA.) Future traffic advisories will include lane closure details.

Schedules are subject to change due to traffic incidents, weather, availability of equipment and/or materials and construction related issues.
