Denver Clerk López Certifies Municipal and Local Ballot Measures

Published on September 06, 2024

Denver Clerk and Recorder Paul López has certified the municipal and local jurisdictional ballot measures for the November 5, 2024 General Election. There are nine municipal ballot measures and three political subdivision measures on this year's ballot.

They are as follows:

Denver's Municipal Ballot Measures:

  • Ballot Issue 2Q (Denver Health)
  • Ballot Issue 2R (Affordable housing)
  • Referred Question 2S (Human Rights Office)
  • Referred Question 2T (Citizenship for police and firefighters)
  • Referred Question 2U (Collective bargaining)
  • Referred Question 2V (Firefighters collective bargaining)
  • Referred Question 2W (Elected official salaries)
  • Citizen-Initiated Ordinance 308 (Fur ban)
  • Citizen-Initiated Ordinance 309 (Slaughterhouse ban)

Other political subdivisions:

  • Ballot Issue 4A (Denver Public Schools)
  • Ballot Issue 6A (Denver Downtown Development Authority)
  • Ballot Issue 7A (Regional Transportation District)

The ballot for this year's election is expected to be three double-sided pages. The Office of the Denver Clerk and Recorder expects an approximate 90% turnout for the upcoming election, which means Denver election workers will process over 1.2 million ballot pages. This is an all-time record high in Denver election history.

The Office of the Denver Clerk and Recorder implores voters to review and return ballots early. The sooner ballots are returned, the sooner they can be processed and counted. While election results won't be available until 7 p.m. on Election Day, ballots returned early will be counted and included in the initial unofficial results on election night.

All 45 Denver ballot drop boxes open Friday, October 11, the same day ballots are mailed to voters. Visit denvervotes.org to find your nearest drop box or voting service and polling center.
