Important Notice: Temporary Road Closure on Hollywood Boulevard for Crane Removal

Date: August 5th - August 9th, 2024

Location: Hollywood Boulevard (2200 block), between 24th Avenue and Dixie Highway

Time: 6:00 AM, August 5th - 8:00 PM, August 9th

As part of the ongoing construction at the Revv Hollywood site-a multi-story residential development located on the north side of Hollywood Boulevard-the next phase of the project involves the removal of two large cranes from the building site. These cranes were crucial for the vertical construction phase and have completed their purpose. To safely disassemble and remove these cranes, a larger "take-down" crane will be utilized, necessitating a temporary closure of the westbound portion of Hollywood Boulevard.

The closure will affect the westbound lanes only of Hollywood Boulevard, including the sidewalk and bike lane. The closure will begin at approximately 6:00 AM on Monday, August 5th, and is expected to continue until 8:00 PM on Friday, August 9th, although efforts will be made to complete the work as quickly as possible. Eastbound Hollywood Boulevard will not be impacted.

During the closure, access to businesses on the north side of Hollywood Boulevard, east and west of the construction site, will be maintained. Additionally, detour signs and electronic message boards will be strategically placed to guide motorists, bicyclists, and pedestrians around the closed area.

To further mitigate traffic congestion and delays, the Florida Department of Transportation's Arterial Management team and Broward County's Signal Systems section are coordinating to implement adjusted timing plans for signalized intersections along the detour routes and nearby areas.

For the duration of the crane removal work, officers from the Hollywood Police Department will be on-site to manage traffic and ensure the safety of all road users. While we anticipate some traffic delays in the surrounding areas, these measures are crucial for the safe and efficient completion of the construction project.

We appreciate the community's understanding and cooperation during this period.
