Sinema Advances Nearly $70 million for Critical Arizona Projects in Appropriations Committee

Sinema & Kelly Deliver Over $10 Million to Strengthen Public Safety in Communities Across Arizona

Sep 16, 2024

Following the Senators' request, $10,081,000 in federal grants awarded to support Arizona's local law enforcement

WASHINGTON - Arizona Senators Kyrsten Sinema and Mark Kelly announced the Department of Justice has finalized major federal investments coming to Arizona to support law enforcement. These investments were secured by Sinema and Kelly earlier this year as part of the Fiscal Year 2024 bipartisan federal appropriations legislation to support law enforcement and public safety priorities and projects across Arizona.

"Arizona's law enforcement officers bravely risk their lives every day to keep us safe. I'm proud to bring these federal investments to Arizona - supporting projects and priorities for safer and healthier communities," said Sinema, a member of the Senate Appropriations Committee.

"As the son of two police officers, I know well that public safety suffers when law enforcement and first responders don't have the tools they need," said Kelly. "These grants will provide vitally needed resources for police departments throughout Arizona and help improve law enforcement capacity in our rural and tribal communities."
