Kuster Joins Ribbon Cutting for Cotton Mill Transfer Bridge's New ADA Ramp in Nashua

Nashua, N.H. - Today, Congresswoman Annie Kuster (NH-02) attended the ribbon cutting for the newly completed Cotton Mill Transfer Bridge ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) Ramp project. Kuster helped secure resources for the project through FY 2022 Community Project Funding to build an ADA-accessible ramp off of the northerly side of the Cotton Mill Transfer Bridge in downtown Nashua, bringing the bridge into compliance with current standards.

Kuster was joined by Nashua Mayor Jim Donchess, Board of Public Works Representative Manny Espitia, Nashua Economic Development Director Liz Hannum, New Hampshire Department of Transportation Representative Greg Tedeschi, and Ed Swett, who assisted with construction.

"Investing in public infrastructure benefits our communities, grows our economy, and sets our state up for long-term success," said Kuster. "Ensuring the Cotton Mill Transfer Bridge is ADA-compliant is an important investment in creating a more inclusive and safe community for all residents, and I have been proud to support Nashua's Riverfront Master Plan to transform the downtown area and make Nashua a hub for economic innovation."

Kuster is a fierce supporter of community development and infrastructure improvement projects that invest in the well-being of New Hampshire communities. She has helped secure resources for several community development projects in Nashua, including:

• $3,000,000 for the Nashua Public Library Plaza renovation project to make critical public safety and accessibility improvements
• $500,000 for the Nashua Riverfront Pedestrian Bridge project to connect the French-Hill neighborhood to downtown Nashua and BAE Systems; and
• $300,000 for the newly completed Cotton Mill Bridge ADA Accessibility project to bring the bridge's aging infrastructure into compliance with current standards.
