City of Denton Seeks Applicants for Civil Service Commission
The City Manager is actively seeking applications to determine the next Civil Service Commissioner, upon the expiration of a term in August of 2024.
The City of Denton Civil Service Commission is responsible for ensuring compliance with the Texas Local Government Code governing police and fire; includes approval of eligibility hiring lists; holds hearings, upon appeal, on matters of promotions, performance, reclassifications, and other civil service issues.
Civil Service Commissioners serve three-year terms and must meet certain eligibility requirements. Additional information about the responsibilities of the Civic Service Commission and eligibility requirements are available, here.
Any eligible Denton residents should submit a letter of interest and resume stating why they wish to serve on the Commission and confirmation they meet the eligibility requirements. Letters of interest and resumes should be submitted no later than 5 p.m. on Monday, July 22 to be considered.
