Man Deceased After Shooting In Southeast Portland

A man has been shot and killed after a disturbance in the Mt. Scott-Arleta neighborhood.

On Thursday, June 27, 2024, at 11:44 p.m., officers from the East Precinct responded to the 5900 block of Southeast 82nd Avenue on reports of a disturbance. Prior to officers arriving at the location, it was reported that shots were fired, and a person was shot. When officers arrived at the location, they found a male victim who was deceased. No arrests have been made and no suspects have been detained.

Portland Police Bureau Homicide detectives are responding to the scene to investigate. During the investigation, Southeast 82 Avenue is closed between Southeast Ramona Street and Southeast Woodstock Boulevard.

The identity of the victim will be released after the Medical Examiner has confirmed the cause of death and after family members have been notified. The PIO is not responding to the scene. More information will be released when appropriate.
