Foreign Parents Can Now Complete Stay or Residence Registration Online for Their Infants Born in Beijing!

According to relevant provisions of the Exit and Entry Administration Law of the People's Republic of China, for foreign infants born in China, their parents or agents shall, within 60 days of birth, present the infants' birth certificates and go through all the procedures for stay or residence registration at the exit/entry administration authorities of public security organs under the people's governments at or above the county level in the places where their parents stay or reside.

To further assist foreign applicants, the Exit-Entry Administration Department of Beijing Municipal Public Security Bureau has launched an online stay/residence registration application for foreign infants, without the need for on-site processing. The specific steps are as follows:

1. Prepare materials

The parents or agent of a foreign infant shall scan the information pages and the pages containing valid visas of the parents' valid passports or other international travel documents, as well as the foreign infant's Medical Birth Certificate.

2. Send an email

The parents or agent concerned shall send the scanned documents to [email protected], the mailbox of the Exit-Entry Administration Department of Beijing Municipal Public Security Bureau for handling the issues related to visas and other documents.

3. Wait for the review results

The Exit-Entry Administration Department of Beijing Municipal Public Security Bureau will provide feedback on the review results via email within seven working days after receiving the email containing all the registration materials. The online registration will be complete once the application passes the review.

Notice:

Any failure in registering the birth of a foreign infant in accordance with the relevant regulations will incur penalty as per the relevant provisions of the Exit and Entry Administration Law of the People's Republic of China.
