RCMP Traffic Services West stops excessive speeders over the weekend

Over the weekend, RCMP Traffic Services West stopped two motorists traveling at excessive speeds. Both drivers were issued speeding tickets and licence suspensions and the vehicles were seized and impounded.

At approximately 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, a 27-year-old male driver was stopped for travelling 140 km/h in an 80 km/h zone on Route 430 near Cormack. On Sunday, around 10:00 a.m., police stopped a 73-year-old man who was travelling 162 km/h in a 100 km/h zone on the Trans-Canada Highway, west of Howley.
