ODOT seeking public comments on upcoming projects

SIDNEY (Tuesday, July 23, 2024) - The Ohio Department of Transportation District 7 is seeking public comments regarding the following projects:

CLA-Spangler Road Safety Improvements, PID 114352: The Clark County Engineer proposes to reconstruct Spangler Road from Restoration Park Drive to Main Street in Medway, Clark County. The project will include raising the road to reduce flooding, site distance improvements, a signal upgrade at the Main Street intersection, and replacement of the bridge over Medway Creek. The project is necessary to improve safety on this corridor. The project is expected to begin in July 2026.

DAR-Sweitzer Street Improvements, PID 119826: The City of Greenville proposes to improve Sweitzer Street from Eidson Road to Birt Street. Improvements will include conversion of the roadway from a four-lane cross section to a three-lane cross section (including a center left turn lane) and a new sidewalk. The project is intended to reduce crashes and improve pedestrian access. The project is expected to begin in early 2028.

DAR-State Route 47 and US 127 Bridge Maintenance, PID 116923: ODOT proposes to undertake maintenance activities on the SR 47 bridge over Gray's Branch in Jackson Township, Darke County and the US 127 bridge over Mile Creek in Wabash Township, Darke County. The project is necessary to preserve the bridges. The project is expected to begin in Summer 2026.

LOG-US 33 at SR 274 Intersection Improvements, PID 118109: ODOT proposes to undertake safety improvements at the US 33 at State Route 274 intersection in McArthur Township, Logan County. The project is intended to improve safety and operation of this intersection, which currently experiences a high crash rate, with over 50% of crashes resulting in injuries. Under the current preferred alternative, ODOT will convert the intersection to a modern roundabout. MOT-Great Miami River Trail Crossing Improvements, PID 119384: The Miami Conservancy District has proposed a project to implement safety improvements to the Great Miami River Recreational trail at five road crossings in the Cities of Dayton, Moraine, West Carrollton, and Miamisburg. Improvements will include upgrades to signage, pavement markings, curb ramps, and lighting. The project is expected to begin early 2026.

MOT-Yankee Street Resurfacing, PID 119362: The Montgomery County Engineer's Office proposes to resurface Yankee Street from Spring Valley Pike to Leona Lane in Montgomery County. The project will also address a gap in sidewalk connectivity at Yank's Court and update the traffic signals at Lyons Road and Spring Valley Pike for improved accessibility. As necessary, curb ramps along the corridor will be upgraded to comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act. The project is necessary to address deteriorated pavement conditions and improve pedestrian access. The project is expected to begin in Spring 2027.
