Executive makes amendments to Law on Evaluation Activities

The requirement of having five years of work experience defined by law for the members of the Evaluation Committee operating in the Cadastre Committee will be replaced by the requirement of two years of professional work experience.

Presenting the amendments to the Law on Evaluation Activities, the Head of the RA Cadastre Committee Suren Tovmasyan mentioned that a rotation system of being a member of the Evaluation Committee and being involved in the Staff of the Committee will be established. According to the rapporteur, the amendment will help the evaluators with two or more years of professional experience to be able to participate in the work of the Committee as members and give appropriate conclusions.

The evaluators who are RA citizens must have 30% or more participation in NGOs, so that they have the opportunity to be registered in the Cadastre Committee.

The initiative also sets certain requirements for evaluation NGOs in the authorized body: presentation of a five-year activity plan and accountability for it.

The next amendment concerns the requirements to be a member of a qualified professional committee.

The co-rapporteur, the member of the Standing Committee on Economic Affairs Hayk Tsirunyan voiced the endorsement of the Committee on the draft. According to him, the Expertise and Analytical Department of the NA Staff presented proposals which were accepted.

The initiative was debated in the first reading at the NA sitting on September 9.
