LOS ANGELES - VCA Animal Hospitals, the global leader of comprehensive veterinary services and part of Mars Veterinary Health, proudly announces that Jessica Sewell, a Credentialed Veterinary Technician and Director of VCA's Career Progression Program, has been appointed to serve as President of the Georgia State Board of Veterinary Medicine. Jessica was the first Veterinary Technician to be appointed to the board when she joined in 2021, and is now the first-ever non-veterinarian to be elected as the board's president.

"I am so happy for Jessica to take on this role as it speaks volumes about the critical role of credentialed veterinary technicians in leadership and advancing veterinary medicine in our states," said Carolyn Spivock, RVT, VCA's Senior Director of Patient Care Associates. Her unique perspective and extensive experience that she brings to the table will have an invaluable impact on this crucial position."
