Governor Newsom issues legislative update 8.19.24

SACRAMENTO - Governor Gavin Newsom today announced that he has signed the following bills:

  • AB 2948 by Assemblymember James C. Ramos (D-Highland) - Adoption Assistance Program: tribal court order.
  • AB 3010 by Assemblymember Rebecca Bauer-Kahan (D-Orinda) - Pupil instruction: mindfulness, distress tolerance, interpersonal effectiveness, and emotional regulation.
  • SB 956 by Senator Dave Cortese (D-San Jose) - School facilities: design-build contracts.
  • SB 985 by Senator Rosilicie Ochoa Bogh (R-Yucaipa) - Check Sellers, Bill Payers and Proraters Law: exemption: nonprofit community service organizations.
  • SB 1005 by Senator Angelique Ashby (D-Sacramento) - Juveniles.
  • SB 1027 by Senator Caroline Menjivar (D-San Fernando Valley/Burbank) - Political Reform Act of 1974: disclosures.
