ISBA Annual Meeting in review

The Iowa State Bar Association's 2024 Annual Meeting commemorated the association's sesquicentennial anniversary, marking 150 years of commitment to the legal profession. The event was filled with insightful CLE, networking opportunities, and a reflection on our proud history.

Between June 24-27, more than 1,144 lawyers and judges were in attendance in-person at Prairie Meadows Events & Conference Center in Altoona. Attorneys and judges in Iowa were offered a total of 22 CLE hours, including ethics, diversity, wellness, and juvenile law credits.

Past President Ian Russell passed the gavel to President Melvin O. Shaw who started his year as the 138th president. The Young Lawyers Division's Past President Dillon Besser passed the gavel to President Mary Rose Shelley.

Attendees enjoyed interacting with their colleagues during the various social gatherings scheduled during the conference. You can view the ISBA Annual Meeting SnapXP photobooth gallery here. Be on the lookout in next week's Iowa Lawyer Weekly for a photo gallery containing images from the special 150th Celebration event that took place the night of June 25.

We look forward to seeing you at the next annual meeting tentatively scheduled for June 23-26, 2025 at Prairie Meadows Events & Conference Center. Watch for a special discounted pre-registration link in next week's Iowa Lawyer Weekly!
