Do you get sensory overload from the crowds, flashing lights and loud sounds at the Atherton Show?

Tablelands Regional Council is once again partnering with the Atherton Show to create a quieter and calmer experience for show goers.

'We have created a free Wonderland Sensory Night Garden as part of Atherton Show's Inclusion Program,' said Youth and Inclusion Advisory Committee Chair Councillor Kylie Lang.

'The space is a magical sensory experience that has reduced noise and no flashing lights where you can immerse yourself in the whimsical world of Alice in Wonderland.

'Our Wonderland Sensory Night Garden will be in near the animal nursery and there's a drop-off zone and disability parking nearby,' said Councillor Lang.

Atherton Show's Inclusion Program includes a range of other programs and initiatives.

At 9am-12noon on Monday 8 July there will be a Sensory Session with reduced noise and no flashing lights across the showgrounds.

There's free entry for accompanying Companion/Carers Pension cardholders, and age, veteran and disability pensioners can get into the show for $7 (9am-12noon Monday).
