Hope Valley Barracks

At 12:00 PM, Troopers arrested Nicholas Basset, age 35, of 327 Arcadia Road, Richmond, RI, for 3 counts of Simple Assault and Disorderly Conduct. This arrest was the result of a barracks investigation stemming from an incident that occurred on July 27th at Westerly Hospital while the subject was in the custody of the Rhode Island Sheriffs. Basset was transported to the Adult Correctional Institution by the Rhode Island Sheriff's Department pending arraignment at Fourth District Court.

At 4:03 PM, Troopers arrested Mark Halstead, age 25, of 460 Charles Street, Apartment 604, Providence, Rhode Island on an Affidavit and Arrest Warrant from the Providence Police Department for First Degree Sexual Assault. This arrest was the result of a motor vehicle stop on South County Trail in the Town of Exeter. The subject was transported to the Hope Valley Barracks, where he was processed and turned over to the Providence Police Department.
