Vacancies on Historic Preservation Board

Fort Morgan's Historic Preservation Board is looking for applicants interested in serving on this unique city advisory board responsible for matters of historical preservation within the municipal boundaries of the city. The board advises and makes recommendations to City Council pertaining to identification, evaluation, rehabilitation, and restoration of historic and architectural resources.

The terms of two current members are scheduled to expire August 11, 2024, as well as one other vacancy not currently filled.

As a Certified Local Government, efforts will be made to have at least two (2) members who are experienced in the fields of history, architecture or planning. Those City residents who have this experience are encouraged to apply, especially from the fields of history, architecture, landscape architecture, architectural history, prehistoric or historic archaeology, planning, American studies, American civilization, cultural geography, cultural anthropology, or related disciplines such as building trades, real estate, or law.

The Historic Preservation Board was established in 2009 and consists of between five and nine members who serve three-year staggered terms. Members must reside (or own real property) within the City limits.
