Clay Electric offices will be closing to the public at noon tomorrow (Thursday) in preparation for Hurricane Helene, which is on track to make landfall near Tallahassee on Thursday evening along the Gulf Coast. Offices will remain closed through Friday.

As of writing, the co-op has secured an additional 39 restoration crews consisting of 120 lineworkers and 20 vegetation management crews consisting of 80 tree trimmers. The co-op is prepared to respond to outages and will restore power as quickly and safely as possible, as conditions allow.

The storm, which reached hurricane strength late Wednesday morning, is expected to reach major hurricane strength before landfall. It's anticipated to be unusually large and fast-moving, according to the National Hurricane Center, and wind and rain will likely extend far from the storm's center.

If you need to report an outage, the best way to do so is through the free MyClayElectric app. You can also call 1-888-434-9844, but keep in mind it might be difficult to get through during and after the storm.
