The University of Toledo is rallying for donations to support Rockets in need.

The Division of Student Affairs is hosting "Rocket Thrift Shop," an event for students to "shop" for free and gently used clothing, shoes, housewares and more. The event is scheduled for Wednesday, Nov. 20, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Thompson Student Union Ingman Room.

Organizers are accepting all donations of clothing and small housewares for the Nov. 20 Rocket Thrift Shop, but are especially in need of men's clothing and shoes and larger-sized clothes.

Organizers are accepting donations of new or gently used clothing (clean and free of stains and rips) houseware, shoes, books, children's items, hangers, reusable bags and more - but are especially in need of men's clothing and larger-sized clothes.

Donations can be dropped off at the following locations during regular business hours:

• Bowman Oddy Room 1227 (Office of Admissions/Student Affairs)

• Center for Alumni and Donor Engagement, 4510 Dorr St.

• HSC Collier Building Main Lobby

• HSC Mulford Library first floor (Student Service Center)

• Ottawa West (Office of Residence Life)

• Rocket Hall Room 1300 (University College)

• Snyder Memorial Room 1000 (Center of International Studies and Programs)

• Thompson Student Union Room 2518 (Center for Advocacy and Student Experience)

• Thompson Student Union Room 2500 (Office of Multicultural and Student Success)

• University Health Center Main Entrance (University Counseling Center)

"Our students love the Thrift Shop and we look forward to it every semester," said Jewel Mundoe, program manager for Student Advocacy and Services. "Personally, it is one of my favorite events. Each year it gets bigger and better and it's all due to the support of the amazing folks we have at UToledo and the community at large who care about the needs of our students. Donations have been coming in since the beginning of the semester and we are so very grateful."

"It's a great way to give back to students in need," added Josh Ford, a student worker in the Office of Multicultural and Student Success who is studying human resource management. "I love helping and organizing donations. While it is a lot of work, it's for a good cause. It's also cool to see all the things people give away."

Donations will be accepted until Tuesday, Nov. 19.

For community convenience, there are two scheduled Drive Through and Drop-Off Days:

• Friday, Nov. 15, from 1 to 4 p.m. in Parking Area 11; and
• Monday, Nov. 18, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in Parking Area 11.
