LOCATION: NORTH SMITHFIELD

On October 11, 2024, at approximately 6:30 AM, members of the Computer Crimes Unit/Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force arrested Luke Silvia, age 23, of 1260 Victory Highway, Slatersville, Rhode Island, for Possession of Child Pornography. Mr. Silvia was transported to Rhode Island State Police Headquarters, processed, and transported to Third District Court for arraignment. The Honorable Associate Judge Trezvant set bail at $5,000 with surety and special bail conditions of restricted Internet access and no unsupervised contact with minors.

LOCATION: PAWTUCKET

On Friday, October 11, 2024, at approximately 1:15pm, members of the HIDTA Task Force arrested Nelson Barbosa, age 27, of 661 Broadway, Pawtucket, Rhode Island for 1) Assault With a Dangerous Weapon 2) Resisting Arrest 3) Obstruction of an Officer in Execution of Duty 4) Possession With the Intent to Deliver a Schedule I Controlled Substance - Marijuana 5) Controlled Substance Conspiracy 6) Possession With the Intent to Deliver 1 oz - 1 kilo of a Schedule II Controlled Substance - Crack Cocaine 7) Possession With the Intent to Deliver a Schedule II Controlled Substance - Crack Cocaine. This arrest was the result of court authorized search warrants executed at the conclusion of a narcotics investigation. Mr. Barbosa was transported to Rhode Island Hospital for his injuries, was special arraigned by a Justice of the Peace, then turned over to the ACI Intake Center pending his arraignment at 6th Division District Court.

On Friday, October 11, 2024, at approximately 1:15pm, members of the HIDTA Task Force arrested Elijah Blyden, age 25, of 14 Welfare Avenue, Cranston, Rhode Island for 1) Resisting Arrest 2) Obstruction of an Officer in Execution of Duty 3) Possession With the Intent to Deliver a Schedule I Controlled Substance - Marijuana 4) Controlled Substance Conspiracy. This arrest was the result of court authorized search warrants executed at the conclusion of a narcotics investigation. Mr. Blyden was transported to Rhode Island Hospital for his injuries, was special arraigned by a Justice of the Peace, then turned over to the ACI Intake Center pending his arraignment at 6th Division District Court.
