W. L. Gore & Associates Celebrates National Hydrogen & Fuel Cell Day With Local Community

ELKTON, MD, (October 8, 2024) - W.L. Gore & Associates celebrates National Hydrogen & Fuel Cell Day by donating over 200 books across local communities to bring awareness to hydrogen and to the everyday science in the world around us. As a leader in clean energy solutions, Gore is committed to advancements in hydrogen technology that will help contribute to a more sustainable future. This year, associates donated copies of the children's book, "Little Great Hydrogen" to several library networks and schools across our various sites in the United States and internationally.

"As a global company it is important for us to ensure our local communities advance in knowledge and awareness about the science and technology that impacts the world and our communities today. This book allows us to reach a younger generation and by extension, parents, caregivers, and educators, while providing context about the science around them in a way that is fun and approachable," says Michelle Augustine, who leads Gore's Clean Energy business.

Authors of "Little Great Hydrogen" Magdalena Cochanski Rodríguez and Andrea Menegazzo share, "This book was created with the idea of introducing Hydrogen to children in an interesting and captivating way. We believe Hydrogen can potentially be part of the foundation to a cleaner and healthier world. We want to inspire a love for science and innovation in young minds, by showing them how fun and fascinating science can be."

This year also celebrates the Tenth Annual National Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Day designated by the United States Senate on October 8th, a date chosen (10.08) to represent the atomic weight of hydrogen (1.008).
