Bridge Maintenance Schedule Changes in Fayette, Washington, and Westmoreland Counties

​Uniontown, PA - Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) District 12 is announcing schedule adjustments to single-lane bridge restrictions beginning next week in Fayette, Washington, and Westmoreland counties.

All work depends on weather and operations, and timeframes are subject to change. The attached maps detail specific locations, and the anticipated schedule is as follows.

Daylight - Tuesday and Wednesday, October 29 and 30 and
Overnight - Thursday, October 31, 9:00 PM-Friday, November 1, 6:00 AM

Washington County

​Fallowfield Township

  • ​I-70 Belle Vernon/Speers Bridge over Route 88 (sheet 38)

​South Strabane Township

  • Interstate 70 at North Junction (sheet 31)
  • I-70 over I-79 at North Junction (sheet 33)
  • I-70 over Route 19 (sheets 35 and 36)
  • Route 8011 over Vance Station Road at South Junction (sheet 58)

Overnight - Thursday, November 7, 9:00 PM-Friday, November 8, 6:00 AM

Fayette County

City of Connellsville

  • Route 119 Memorial Bridge over the Youghiogheny River (sheet 9)

Westmoreland County

South Huntingdon Township

  • ​I-70 Matthew Smelser Memorial Bridge over the Youghiogheny River (sheet 60)

Crews from Green Acres Contracting will clean and wash the bridges to remove debris from bearings and bearing seats at all piers and abutments as part of a districtwide maintenance contract for 82 bridges throughout Fayette, Greene, Washington, and Westmoreland counties - an infrastructure preservation investment of $486K.
