In a collaborative effort to improve public health, Boise State's School of Nursing and Public Health partnered with Interfaith Sanctuary to provide on-site flu and COVID-19 vaccinations to the shelter's residents. The initiative aimed to increase vaccination rates among vulnerable populations and protect the health of the community.
The vaccination clinic, held on Oct. 29, was designed to make vaccinations accessible to individuals experiencing homelessness, a group which faces significant barriers to healthcare.

Vaccinations are a crucial tool in preventing the spread of infectious diseases, including COVID-19 and other respiratory viruses. By increasing vaccination rates among vulnerable populations, the university can help protect public health and reduce the burden on healthcare systems.
Boise State and Interfaith Sanctuary are committed to continuing their partnership to address health disparities and improve the well-being of the community. Future collaborations may include additional vaccination clinics, health screenings and educational programs.
