It is with appreciation that Norway notes the conclusion of the Agreement on Climate Change, Trade and Sustainability (ACCTS). We offer our sincerest gratitude to our negotiating partners Costa Rica, Iceland, New Zealand, and Switzerland for excellent cooperation throughout the negotiations.

Negotiations on ACCTS began in 2019. Norway has participated in all fifteen rounds of negotiations that lead to the conclusion of ACCTS. ACCTS represents an innovative agreement that seeks to address the climate change, trade and sustainability development agendas.

Norway will need more time to consider the text before reaching a conclusion on whether Norway should become a signatory to ACCTS.
